Pinehurst No. 1

Pinehurst No. 1 is the original course at Pinehurst Resort in North Carolina, first played in 1898 and shaped into 18 holes by Donald Ross. It is the oldest and shortest of the resort's 18-hole courses, a classic parkland layout with wide fairways. The Perry Bros played it on June 1, 2023; Jon's score was 92.

About No. 1

Dr. Leroy Culver laid out the resort's first nine in 1897 and 1898, John Dunn Tucker added a second nine, and Donald Ross joined them into the 18 holes of No. 1. It plays from the main resort clubhouse, the same one that serves No. 2 and No. 4.
