About No. 8

Pinehurst opened No. 8 in 1996 to mark the resort's centennial, which is where the "Centennial Course" name comes from. It hosted the PGA Club Professional Championship in 1997 and 1998.

We played No. 8 in the morning and No. 9 in the afternoon: a 36-hole day on the second day of our 2023 trip.

What stands out

  • Set on an Audubon sanctuary with its own clubhouse.
  • Fazio borrowed Ross features: false fronts, dips and swales around sloping greens.
  • Large greens.
